CCTV appeal following alleged robbery in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating an alleged robbery in Bournemouth are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.

At approximately 9.55pm on Tuesday 27 February 2024 two teenage boys were walking through the underpass toward Bournemouth train station near to Asda when two men walked toward them.

It is reported that one of them pushed one of the boys against the wall and asked him to give him his phone, wallet and bag.

He is reported to have made threats to stab the victim, however, it is not confirmed if a knife was seen.

The victim’s bag, phone and wallet were stolen, as well as a ring.

Following enquiries, a 45-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of robbery and fraud by false representation. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Cam Carter, of BCP CID, said: “I am continuing to investigate this incident and am now issuing an image of a man I would like to identify.

“I would ask anyone with information about his identity to please get in touch.”
