Reported robbery in Dorchester – public appeal

Officers investigating a reported robbery in Dorchester are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

On the afternoon of Saturday 25 February 2023, the victim, a 13-year-old boy, was in the town with three friends when they were approached by four males. Two were wearing balaclavas.

The males spoke to the group for around 30 minutes in Bowling Alley Walk before they reportedly turned on the victim, who was allegedly punched and kicked before demands were made for him to strip the clothing he was wearing. A mobile phone and items of clothing were stolen.

Following enquiries, a 14-year-old local girl was identified and will be interviewed in connection with the offence. An investigation to identify the other individuals involved remains ongoing.

Police Constable Matthew Campbell, of Dorchester police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident and has not yet spoken to officers, or knows the identifies of those involved, to please contact Dorset Police.”
