Appeal following dog bite incident in Poole
Officers investigating an incident where a teenage boy was reportedly bitten by a dog in Poole are appealing for information.
It was reported that between 10.30am and 11am on Tuesday 18 June 2024, a teenage boy was bitten by a dog on the leg in Seaview Road.
The victim required treatment in hospital for his injury.
It is reported that the woman with the dog left the scene without giving her details.
The woman is described as five feet tall with long brown hair and aged in her 40s. She was wearing a black top with ‘GUESS’ written across the front in white print and dark blue trousers.
The dog is described as black and stocky. It was wearing a black harness and on a lead.
Police Constable Callum Mercer, of Bournemouth police, said: “This incident resulted in a child requiring treatment to a nasty leg injury.
“We have been carrying out enquiries into this incident and as we have now obtained full details from the victim, we are now in a position to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact us.
“I am particularly keen to hear from a man described as five feet nine inches tall, aged in his 30s and wearing a blue tracksuit who reportedly intervened to help the child when the incident occurred.
“I would also urge the woman involved to please do the right thing and get in touch with us so we can take your account of what happened.”
