Appeal for information following criminal damage in Poole

Officers investigating criminal damage to a vehicle in Poole are appealing for anyone with information or footage to come forward.

At around 7.55pm on Monday 20 April 2026 a man aged in his 20s was driving his car along the Upton bypass between the Upton and Creekmoor junctions.

The vehicle was struck by a stone and the windscreen was damaged, but thankfully there were no injuries caused to the occupant.

Two young people were seen on the bridge above the road as he drove underneath when the damage was caused.

Police Constable Mark Mills, of Dorset Police, said: “This was extremely dangerous behaviour by the individuals involved that could have had serious consequences for the motorist.

“We carried out searches of the area to try and locate the suspects, but this was unsuccessful and our efforts are ongoing to identify them.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and either witnessed the incident or may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260056387. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
