Reported assault in Weymouth – witness appeal

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a report of assault in Weymouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.21pm on Sunday 2 June 2024 that a woman had been assaulted in the area of King Street in Weymouth.

The victim – a woman in her 30s – was taken to hospital for treatment to a laceration injury to her neck.

Following enquiries, a 28-year-old Weymouth woman has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

Police Constable Madeleine Vincent, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident.

“I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or motorists driving in the area at the time who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone with information about who was responsible to please come forward.”
