Witness appeal following suspicious fire in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating a suspicious fire that started in a bin store in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Between 1am and 1.40am on Tuesday 15 February 2022 a fire occurred in the bin store outside of Calendula Place in Christchurch Road. 

Damage was caused to the outside of the building, including to pipework and gas meters. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Detective Sergeant Leo Glendon, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following initial investigative work, it is believed that the fire had been started deliberately. 

“I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please come forward.

“I would urge motorists with dashcam and residents and businesses with CCTV systems to please check their footage for anything to help my enquiries.”
