Appeal for information following suspicious incident in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they look to establish the circumstances of a report of suspicious incident in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 3.23pm on Tuesday 21 May 2024 that a woman was seen walking in South Kinson Drive, near to Rochester Road, before they went out of sight from the witness. It was reported that shouting was then heard and a white van was seen driving off from the scene.

Detective Superintendent Jim Beashel, of Dorset Police, said: “While we have no information at this time to indicate anyone has come to any harm, we are keen to establish the circumstances of this incident and identify any parties involved, so that we can check on their welfare.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area and who witnessed any suspicious activity, or who has any information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.

“I would also ask any residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras in the vicinity, or motorists with dashcam who may have been travelling in the area, to please review their footage from around the time of the incident to see if they have captured anything of relevance.

“Finally, I would also urge the woman involved in this incident to please get in touch with us as we just want to ensure that you are OK.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 21:405. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
