Update – arrest following reported fail-to-stop collision in Bournemouth
A man has been arrested in connection with a reported fail-to-stop collision in Bournemouth.
At approximately 5.25am on Sunday 1 January 2023 officers attempted to stop a grey Mercedes GLE Coupe in Fir Vale Road. The vehicle allegedly failed to stop and made off toward Horseshoe Common.
As the vehicle was leaving the scene, it was reportedly involved in a collision with two police officers. They sustained minor injuries.
Following a detailed investigation by officers from the traffic unit, a 33-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence and assaulting an emergency worker. He has been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.
Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
