Update in relation to Bournemouth rape investigation

A man has been identified following a CCTV appeal in relation to an ongoing Bournemouth rape investigation.

The incident occurred at an address in Meyrick Road on the night of Friday 10 September into the early hours of Saturday 11 September 2021. It was reported that the 18-year-old female victim was raped and sexually assaulted by two men she had met earlier that evening while on a night out in Christchurch.

Previously, a 40-year-old Hampshire man was arrested on suspicion of rape and was released under investigation. A 33-year-old Hampshire man has also attended for a voluntary police interview in connection with the incident and he was also released under investigation.

On Tuesday 15 February 2022 a CCTV appeal was issued in relation to a further man detectives want to speak to in relation to the investigation. He has now been identified. No further arrests have been made at this time.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal.
