Update – arrest following reported assault in Bournemouth
Detectives investigating a reported assault in Bournemouth town centre have made an arrest.
At around 1.40am on Sunday 25 June 2023 officers attended Westover Road following a report that a man had sustained a facial injury. The man, aged in his 30s, reported that he had been walking down the road hen he saw a man who was in the company of two women.
After engaging the man in conversation, the victim was allegedly punched to the face, knocking him unconscious and causing him to fall to the ground.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to a fracture jaw.
Following enquiries by detectives from Bournemouth CID, a 37-year-old man from Christchurch was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. He has been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.
