Appeal for witnesses following robbery in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch following a robbery in Bournemouth.

At approximately 8pm on Tuesday 3 July 2023 it is reported that a robbery occurred on Wimborne Road, at the junction with Whitelegg Way.

The victim – a 15-year-old boy – was approached by two male suspects who demanded him to hand over his bag. He was subsequently punched in the face, but did not sustain any serious injuries.

One of the offenders is described as white, aged around 16 years old, five feet eight inches tall, of skinny build and was wearing a black tracksuit with a face mask. The second suspect is described as black, also approximately 16 years old, around five feet ten inches tall, of stocky build and was wearing a black tracksuit with a face mask.

Police Constable Jordan Skinner, of Bournemouth police, said: “Our investigation is continuing and I would urge anyone who saw what happened or has knowledge of the incident to please get in touch.

“In particular, I am keen to speak to two possible elderly witnesses who were in the vicinity and travelling in a red car.

“It is believed that the two suspects got out of a black Seat Leon before the incident and I would ask anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area at the time to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230103566. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
