Appeal for information following robbery in Bridport

Officers investigating a robbery in Bridport are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 10.30pm on Friday 8 August 2025, a man was sitting in his car in St Andrews Road when an unknown man opened the car door.

It is reported that the man was in possession of a knife and demanded money from the victim.

A quantity of cash, mobile phone and keys were stolen during the incident.

A member of the public intervened and the offender – who was with a woman at the time – ran away from the scene.

The man is described as white, aged between 20 and 30 years old and of stocky build, wearing a grey hooded jumper and a hat. The woman is described as white, also aged between 20 and 30 years old with shoulder-length hair and was wearing a red top and black trousers.

Police Constable Harry Amos, of West Dorset police, said: “We have been continuing to investigate this incident and have obtained witness accounts from those who intervened and were in the area.

“I am now appealing to anyone with information about what happened and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the suspects from the descriptions provided.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250117416. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
