Witness appeal following burglary in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a burglary at a hotel in Weymouth.

Dorset Police received a report at around 9.45pm on Friday 24 March 2023 of a burglary at a room in The Crown Hotel in St Thomas Street.

A laptop, iPad and purse containing a quantity of cash and credit cards were stolen.

Police Constable Mia-Isabella Bowditch, of Weymouth police, said: “I am carrying out enquiries into this incident and would ask anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the hotel to please come forward.

"If you have been offered a laptop or iPad for sale in unusual circumstances recently, please contact Dorset Police.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on either CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage.”
