Witness appeal following serious assault in Bournemouth

Officers investigating an incident where a man sustained a stab wound in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 12.30am on Friday 4 February 2022 the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was walking along Christchurch Road when a car slowed and pulled up alongside him. The male passenger appeared to be filming the victim and the two men were involved in an altercation.

The victim walked off toward Hamilton Road but the car continued to follow him. When they were in Hamilton Road, a man exited the vehicle and was involved in a fight with the victim, during which he sustained a puncture wound to the right side of his body.

Police Constable Kate Brew, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are carrying out a number of detailed enquiries into this incident, including a review of available CCTV footage in the area.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed an altercation in either Christchurch Road or Hamilton Road around the time of this incident, or has any information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the incident who has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
