Update – man charged following collision in Bournemouth
A man has been charged and is due to appear in court in connection with a collision in Bournemouth town centre.
At around 12.25am on Monday 15 December 2025 a road traffic collision occurred in Old Christchurch Road, near to the junction with Wootton Gardens involving a black BMW and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained injuries to his leg and arm but did not require immediate medical treatment.
It was reported that following the collision, the BMW drove off from the scene and was subsequently seen by officers in Lansdown Road, where it failed to stop for police.
Following further enquiries, a 25-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested. He has now been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, possessing a knife or bladed article, possession of a class C drug, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to supply evidential specimen and failing to stop a mechanically propelled vehicle when required by a constable.
The suspect – who is a Saudi Arabian national and gave his self-defined ethnicity as any other Asian background – is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 17 December 2025.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
