Witness and dashcam appeal following fatal collision near Gillingham

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision near Gillingham.

Dorset Police received a report at 2.32pm on Friday 20 March 2026 of a collision on the B3092 in the area of Milton-on-Stour north of Gillingham, involving a silver Peugeot 308 and a black Triumph motorcycle.

Emergency services attended and very sadly the motorcyclist – a man aged in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.

Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond and for an examination of the scene to be conducted.

Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the motorcyclist who sadly died and we will be carrying out a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision.

“I would urge any witnesses or anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage to please contact us.

“I would also like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures.”
