Update – man charged following reported serious assault in Bournemouth
A man has been charged and has appeared in court in connection with a reported serious assault in Bournemouth town centre.
Dorset Police received a report at 7.23pm on Monday 24 February 2025 of an assault involving two men in Richmond Hill Drive.
It was reported that they both sustained stab wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
During the incident, it was further reported that a woman aged in her 30s was assaulted. She did not sustain any serious injuries.
One of the men, aged 21 and from Bournemouth, was arrested in connection with the incident. Following his release from hospital, he was charged with attempted murder, assault by beating and possessing a knife/bladed article in a public place.
He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 1 March 2025 and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 3 April 2025.
The male victim, aged in his 30s from Southampton, has now been discharged from hospital.
