Witness appeal after man sustained injuries in Shaftesbury
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help establish how a man sustained injuries during an incident in Shaftesbury.
Dorset Police received a report at 1.19am on Sunday 22 September 2024 that a man had sustained injuries outside Shaftesbury Football Club in Coppice Street.
The victim – aged in his 30s – sustained fractures to his leg and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Following enquiries, a man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and released on police bail as the investigation continues.
Police Constable Matt Barrett, of Dorset County CID, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what happened and how the man sustained his injuries.
“I would ask anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please contact Dorset Police.”
