Witness appeal following theft in Bournemouth

Officers investigating the theft of a watch in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At approximately 12.45am on Saturday 25 June 2022 the victim – a man aged in his 50s from Poole – crossed Old Christchurch Road from the Dilli Haat restaurant toward Stafford Road to get into a taxi.

As the victim was getting into the taxi, he was approached by an unknown man in what was initially believed to be an attempt to get into the taxi.

During the incident, a Patek Philippe watch was stolen from the wrist of the victim.

The offender ran off up the road, before turning left onto Lorne Park Road. He is described as of medium build, aged between 25 and 30 years old and approximately five feet eight inches tall. He was wearing black bottoms and a black hooded top with the hood up.

The watch is described as a Patek Philippe Nautilus with a black leather strap with a white gold body.

Police Constable Christopher Hartley, of Bournemouth police, said: “I am carrying out enquiries into this theft and have been checking CCTV in the vicinity for any footage to help my investigation.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or any suspicious activity in the moments leading up to it, to please come forward.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who has seen a watch matching the one described for sale in unusual circumstances.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/contact, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55220101377.
