Update in relation to serious injury collision in Poole

A man has been arrested as officers continue to investigate a serious injury collision in Poole.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.09pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024 of a collision on Wallisdown Road, near to the Mountbatten Roundabout, involving a blue Skoda Octavia and a bus.

Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place as they responded to the incident.

The male driver of the Skoda and his female passenger, both aged in their 30s, sustained injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Two passengers from the bus were also treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Following enquiries from the Roads Policing Team, a man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. He has been released under investigation as further investigative work is carried out.

Officers are continuing to appeal for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or any motorists with relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
