Man jailed following violent assault in Bournemouth
An investigation by detectives has led to a man being jailed for a violent assault in Bournemouth.
Jasper Bailey, aged 26 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and supplying a class A drug.
The victim – a local man aged in his 20s – was assaulted by Bailey at an address in Clarence Park Road at around 7pm on Friday 27 October 2023.
Bailey grabbed the victim by his arm and threw him onto the floor, before holding him down and punching and kicking him in the face.
The defendant also leaned on the victim’s neck for a brief period of time and blocked his breathing.
Bailey was subsequently identified as the defendant and arrested.
He was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday 3 October 2025 to four years in prison.
Bailey was also jailed for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
Detective Constable Ahmed Sabik, of Dorset Police, said: “This was a nasty assault in which the victim sustained a fracture to his cheek bone and bruising on his back and leg.
“We do not tolerate violence and I am pleased that we were able to identify Bailey and hold him accountable for his actions.”
