Witness appeal following serious injury collision near Wimborne

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury collision near Wimborne.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.42am on Wednesday 3 April 2024 of a collision on the A31 near to the Canford Bottom roundabout involving a black Audi A6 and a Kawasaki motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle – a local man aged in his 50s – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Police Constable Calum Maton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who were travelling nearby and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I understand the road closure would have had an impact in the area and I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding. This enabled us to safely deal with the incident and investigate the scene.”
