Serious road traffic collision in North Dorset – witness appeal

Officers investigating a serious road traffic collision in North Dorset are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

The single-vehicle collision on the A30 between East Stour and Shaftesbury near The Udder Farm Shop happened at around 10.17am on Saturday 29 July 2023.

A Suzuki Swift collided with a stone wall. It is believed that the car was travelling from the direction of Shaftesbury toward East Stour.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle – a woman in her 40s and from Gillingham – was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police Constable Duncan Roberts, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am very keen to hear from any witnesses to the collision itself or to the manner of driving of the vehicle prior to it, who have not yet spoken with police.

“Also, I would urge any motorists who have dashcam fitted to please check their footage and contact us if they have captured anything that might assist our investigation.”
