At around 9pm on Thursday 22 June 2023 a collision occurred at the Lansdowne Roundabout, near to the junction with Bath Road, involving a silver Vauxhall Astra and a cyclist.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the male cyclist was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the traffic unit, said: “We are investigating the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the occupants of a dark-coloured Peugeot 307 that was seen in the area around the time of the collision as they may have information to assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures, which were necessary to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for enquiries at the scene to be carried out.”
