Witness appeal following reported aggravated burglary in North Dorset

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a report of an aggravated burglary in North Dorset.

It was reported at around 7.25am on Wednesday 28 June 2023 that a male suspect had knocked on the door of a property in Lower Street in Okeford Fitzpaine and asked to use the toilet. The occupant let him in and once inside he allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and demanded his keys.

The victim refused and the alleged offender left the address.

Following enquiries, two people were reportedly located nearby and a knife was recovered as well as a quantity of suspected class A drugs.

A 17-year-old boy from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possessing a class A drug with intent to supply and an 18-year-old Blandford man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possessing a class A drug with intent to supply.

Detective Inspector Rhys Griffiths, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to conduct enquiries into this matter, and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries.

“I would ask motorists with dashcam who were in the area of Okeford Fitzpaine on the morning of Wednesday 28 June 2023, as well as residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, to please review their footage for anything of relevance.”
