Witness appeal following reported altercation in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they investigate reports of an altercation in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 7.07am on Saturday 5 October 2024 of a disturbance involving several men in the area of the Lansdowne Roundabout on Old Christchurch Road.

Officers attended and three people were located with injuries. One man had sustained a suspected head injury and another had a laceration and bruising to his face, both were taken to hospital for treatment.

A third man sustained a minor injury to his finger.

Following enquiries, two men aged in their 20s from Bournemouth were arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing a bladed article in a public place and three men from Purbeck, also all aged in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of affray and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

All five men have been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

Police Constable Summer Bryant, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would urge witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the relevant time to please review any dashcam footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
