Arrest following reported rape in Christchurch

Detectives investigating a reported rape in Christchurch have made an arrest.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.32am on Friday 21 October 2022 that a woman had been raped by a man, who she had met earlier, in the early hours of that morning in the underpass in Saxon Square in Christchurch.

Following enquiries, a 46-year-old man from Christchurch has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, of Dorset Police, said: “Our enquiries remain ongoing, and I would again urge any witnesses, or anyone with information relating to this incident, to please come forward.”
