Appeal for witnesses following theft and assault incidents in Dorchester
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following incidents of theft and assault in Dorchester.
At around 12.05am on Saturday 19 July 2025, Dorset Police received a report of the theft of a bag containing a wallet and keys near Dorchester West train station.
Officers attended the incident, where an altercation had ensued between a man and a woman who were known to one another.
It was further reported by the victim – a man aged in his 30s and from Weymouth – that the woman had hit him in the face multiple times that evening.
The man also disclosed that the woman had hit him at around 10pm on Friday 18 July 2025 both inside and outside The Royal Oak pub, and outside Café Jagos at around 11pm in High West Street.
The man further reported that the woman assaulted him outside a third location, believed to be Dorchester Trinity Sports Club in Trinity Street at 11.30pm.
Police Constable Harry Amos, of Dorchester police, said: “We are continuing to investigate these incidents and ascertain the full circumstances of what happened that night.
“We know that there were a number of people in The Royal Oak pub and Jagos bar that evening and so I am keen to hear from any witnesses who saw what occurred.
“I would also ask any motorists driving down High West Street or Trinity Street during the aforementioned times to please review their dashcams to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
