Update – arrest following reported fail-to-stop collision near Upton

A man has been arrested as officers continue to investigate a reported fail-to-stop collision near Upton.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.47pm on Sunday 15 December 2024 of a collision on the A350 Blandford North Road at Lytchett Heath between the Upton Roundabout and the Roundhouse Roundabout. It involved a grey Volkswagen Golf and a silver Peugeot 2008.

It was reported that the occupant of the Golf made off from the scene on foot.

Emergency services attended and the occupant of the Peugeot, a man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious leg injury.

Following enquiries by the Roads Policing Team, a 29-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. He has been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.
