Witness appeal following burglary in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a burglary in Weymouth.

At around 9.55pm on Thursday 14 December 2023, a report was received of a man acting suspiciously in Blenheim Road.

Officers attended and it was found that a garage had been broken into and a quantity of food and alcohol was stolen. The stolen items were later recovered and returned to the victim.

The suspect is described as white, six feet tall and of slim build with dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a light-coloured hooded jumper, tracksuit bottoms and was carrying a rucksack.

Police Constable Sam Welch, of Weymouth police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to identify the man responsible and will be reviewing any available CCTV in the area.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the vicinity and may have information to assist my investigation.”
