CCTV appeal following reported assaults in Bournemouth

Officers are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify as part of their ongoing investigation into reported assaults in Bournemouth town centre.

Dorset Police received a report of an altercation outside Popworld in Old Christchurch Road at around 4am on Wednesday 29 May 2024.

It was reported that four people had been assaulted by two men. Two of the victims, men aged in their 20s, sustained suspected fractured jaws and other facial injuries as a result of the incident. The other two victims – women aged in their 20s – did not sustain any serious injuries.

Officers attended the scene and a 22-year-old Poole man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police Constable Amelia Wolstenhulme, of Dorset Police, said: “Our investigation into this matter is ongoing and I am now in a position to release a CCTV image of a man we are still looking to identify as part of our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone with information regarding his identity to please contact us.”
