Appeal for information following criminal damage in North Dorset

Officers investigating criminal damage near Sturminster Newton are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Between Friday 29 August and Monday 31 August 2026 damage was caused to gravestones at St Gregory Church in Marnhull.

It was reported that several gravestones had been tipped over and broken in half.

Police Constable Jack White, of Dorset Police, said: “This criminal damage has understandably caused a lot of upset and we are carrying out enquiries to establish who was responsible.

“I am keen to hear from anyone with information about what happened or who saw any suspicious activity in the area during the relevant time period.”
