Update in relation to reported assault in Bournemouth

A man has been arrested as detectives continue to investigate a suspected assault in the Boscombe area of Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.36pm on Wednesday 12 October 2022 that a man had been located injured outside an address in Southcote Road.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be serious but not life threatening.

Following detailed enquiries by detectives from Bournemouth CID, a 36-year-old local man was arrested of suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on police bail as investigation work continues.

Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Our enquiries remain ongoing, and I would again urge any witnesses, or anyone with information relating to this incident, to please come forward.

“I would also like to ask again that residents in the vicinity check their home CCTV systems and motorists who were in the area review their dashcam footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
