Witness appeal following robbery in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a robbery in Bournemouth.

It was reported that at around 8.30pm on Wednesday 10 May 2023 two 14-year-old boys were in Broadway Lane, opposite Muscliff Primary School, when they were approached by a group of male teenagers on bicycles. Members of the group grabbed the two boys and took the victims’ phones as well as a £10 note.

The group cycled off in the direction of the Broadway Roundabout.

They are described as being aged around 15 to 16 years old and some of the group were reportedly wearing balaclavas.

Police Constable Jordan Skinner, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are investigating this robbery and are conducting a number of enquiries to identify those responsible.

“I would appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please contact us. In particular, I understand there were two people walking their dog in the vicinity who may have seen what happened.

“I would also ask any motorists who were in the area, or residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, to please review their footage from around the time of the incident to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230071767. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
