Officers are renewing their appeal for information following a series of burglaries in the Bridport area, with a plea for sightings of one of the stolen vehicles to be reported.
A report was received at around 4pm on Sunday 5 April 2026 of a burglary in Bridge Road in Charmouth during which a white Land Rover with the registration WD68 RRZ was stolen.
Burglaries were also reported at a residential address in East Cliff in West Bay between 6pm and 9pm on Saturday 4 April 2026 – with food, alcohol and keys stolen – and on Sunday 5 April 2026 at Shipton Road in Shipton Gorge, with nothing believed to be stolen on this occasion.
Further burglaries were reported between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday 5 April 2026, with a VW Transporter Campervan stolen from a driveway in Barrowfield Close in Burton Bradstock as well as cash and jewellery stolen from an address in St Andrew’s Road in Bridport between Friday 3 April and Friday 10 April 2026.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish if the incidents are linked.
Police Constable Paul Miners, of West Dorset police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this burglary series and we have increased patrols in the area in light of these reports.
“We are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to come forward.
“In particular, we are urging anyone who comes across the white Land Rover with the registration WD68 RRZ, which our enquiries indicate may still be in the local area. Anyone who sees this vehicle is urged to contact police immediately.”
