Appeal for witnesses following burglary in West Parley

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a burglary at a village hall in West Parley.

Between 6.30pm on Saturday 25 May and 2.30pm on Sunday 26 May 2024, entry was gained to West Parley Memorial Hall in Christchurch Road.

During the incident, damage was caused to fire extinguishers and furnishings in the building.

Police Constable Tom Harness, of Dorset Police, said: “This was a despicable and reckless act on a building that was built in memorial to those who gave their lives in World War I.

“We are doing all we can to identify who was responsible for gaining entry to this building that is well-loved by the local community.

“I would like to make a direct appeal to the offenders to do the right thing and come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from any witnesses who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the area.”
