Update – arrest following robbery at Gillingham store
A woman has been arrested following a reported robbery at a supermarket in Gillingham.
It was reported that at around 3.15pm on Monday 6 May 2024 a woman stole a number of bottles of alcohol from the Asda store in Station Road. When she was challenged by staff inside the store, she allegedly threw one of the bottles toward a staff member, but it did not make contact.
She also reportedly threatened staff outside the store before making off from the scene.
Following enquiries by officers and an image appeal, a 34-year-old local woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery and theft. She has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal.
