Appeal following burglary in North Dorset

Officers are issuing an appeal for information as they investigate a burglary in North Dorset where two cars were stolen.

At around 3.40am on Friday 7 November 2025, entry was gained to a property in Motcombe.

Two sets of car keys were stolen from inside the address and used to steal the two vehicles that were parked outside.

One of the vehicles was subsequently located in Bristol later on the same day. The other vehicle – a Skoda Kodiaq – has not yet been found.

Police Constable Matt Saunders, of Shaftesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “A full investigation is underway and an examination of the scene was carried out to try and identify the offenders.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area to please come forward.

“If you have home CCTV in Motcombe, we would ask you to please check your footage for anything of relevance around the time of the incident.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the crime prevention advice that can be found at https://www.dorset.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250165052. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
