Live social media Q&A event on police officer recruitment
Dorset Police is recruiting new officers and is inviting the public to ask questions about joining us.
Officers and staff from Dorset Police will be live on the Force’s Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Monday 27 October 2025 to answer questions about being a police officer in the county we love.
Specialist staff from recruitment and Positive Action will also be on hand to talk through the application process.
This event is online to give the greatest number of people the opportunity to join in, with a recording available for those who can’t watch it live.
Applications to become a police officer are open now.
We are also welcoming transferees, rejoiners and those with military experience to get in touch or apply.
Assistant Chief Constable Mark Callaghan, of Dorset Police, said: "We know this live event will help those interested in a career as a police constable or a detective constable to find out more.
"This is in addition to recruitment fairs and other events our officers and staff attend. We love Dorset and we want more people to consider a career with us.
"There are various routes open to join us based on experience and education. Whether you have a degree or not, there are different ways-in so your skills, experience and commitment to public service can make a difference in our beautiful county.
"This online session is an opportunity for us to find out more and learn about the support open to you. You can ask experts who live the job any direct questions you might have about the application process.
“We are hoping that this event will encourage more to join us and love Dorset while we continue to make it a safe county for everyone.”
