Appeal for witnesses following affray in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage to come forward following an affray in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.40pm on Tuesday 13 June 2023 of a disturbance in the area of Pier Approach.

Officers attended and two men were located with injuries that are not believed to be serious.

It was reported that they were assaulted by a group of men who were wearing black clothing and face coverings.

Police Constable Jessica Pike, of BCP CID, said: “Officers attended following reports from the public and carried out searches of the area, but the group were not located.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this incident and would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to come forward.

“I would like to make an appeal for anyone who captured any of this incident on mobile phone footage to please send it to us to help us with identifying those involved.

“As part of our summer policing operation, local officers and partners agencies carry out regular patrols of the beach and surrounding area. We will respond to concerns raised and will take proactive action against those involved in reported crime and anti-social behaviour.”
