Appeal for information following reported assault in Bournemouth
Detectives investigating a reported assault in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Dorset Police received a report at 12.26am on Sunday 7 June 2026 that a vehicle had been found unoccupied in the middle of the road in Lincoln Avenue.
Enquiries were carried out and it was reported at around 2.20am that a man had presented at Royal Bournemouth Hospital with suspected stab wounds to his arm and leg as well as injuries to his head. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The injured man, aged 18, reported he had been stopped while driving the vehicle and two men approached his vehicle, threatened him and assaulted him.
Following further enquiries and searches, an 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is in police custody, having been discharged from hospital.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved in the reported assault.
Detective Inspector Jon Sainsbury, of BCP CID, said: “We have launched a full investigation to identify those involved in this incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“From our enquiries we understand that a taxi reportedly pulled up at the scene during the incident, which is believed to have prompted the offenders to flee.
“I am keen to identify the driver of this taxi as they may have information to assist our investigation.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who captured any relevant dashcam, home CCTV or doorbell camera footage.”
