CCTV appeal following assault in Sherborne

Officers are issuing CCTV images of four men they wish to identify following an assault in Sherborne.

At 10.25pm on Tuesday 5 August 2025 an altercation occurred in The White Hart pub in Cheap Street in which the victim – a local man aged in his 40s – was pushed to the ground, punched in the face and hit with a pint glass by a group of four men.

The group left the pub shortly after the incident.

Officers attended with the ambulance service and the victim was taken hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Police Constable Ben Hannigan, of Dorset Police, said: “As part of my investigation, I am issuing CCTV images of four men I would like to identify.

“I would ask anyone who recognises them or has knowledge of their identity to please contact us.”
