Witness appeal following report of assault in Bournemouth
Officers investigating a reported assault in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
At around 2.30pm on Thursday 20 February 2025 a man aged in his 20s was reportedly assaulted by another man in King John Avenue.
It was further reported that during the altercation another man arrived on the scene in possession of a knife and made threats toward the victim.
As the victim left the scene in the direction of Knights Road it was reported that another male suspect emerged from a green van and further assaulted the victim.
Officers attended and carried out enquiries at the scene. A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and intentional strangulation and a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray. They have both been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
It is not believed the victim sustained any serious injuries.
Police Constable Lizzie Christie, of BCP CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident, and I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw what happened.
“I would also urge any motorists who were in the vicinity, as well as residents with home CCTV systems or doorbell cameras, to please review their footage from around the relevant time to see if they have captured anything that might assist our enquiries.”
