Serious injury collision in North Dorset – witness and dashcam appeal

Officers are appealing for witnesses and relevant dashcam footage as they investigate a serious injury collision in North Dorset.

Dorset Police received a report at 5.19pm on Monday 26 May 2025 of a collision on the A357 between Fiddleford and Sturminster Newton involving a white Mini Cooper and a blue Vauxhall Astra.

Emergency services attended and the driver of the Mini, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-changing or life-threatening.

A passenger in the Mini, a woman aged in her 40s, also received treatment for serious injuries.

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances of the collision.

“I would urge any witnesses to the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to the collision, to please make contact with us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
