Witness appeal following commercial burglary in Shaftesbury

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a commercial burglary at a bank in Shaftesbury.

Dorset Police received a report at around 2am on Monday 8 June 2026 of an alarm sounding at the Natwest bank in The Commons.

Officers attended and it was reported that entry had been forced and a quantity of cash stolen was from an ATM machine.

From enquiries, it is believed the offenders made off from the scene in a blue Volkswagen Golf.

Detective Inspector Ben Griffin, of Dorset County CID, said: “We have launched a full investigation into this incident and are carrying out detailed enquiries to identify those involved.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who may have captured relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to please contact us.”
