Appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Bournemouth

Officers investigating a serious injury road traffic collision in Bournemouth town centre are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 1.39am on Sunday 28 May 2023 of a collision involving a silver Peugeot 307 and two pedestrians in Exeter Road at the junction with Exeter Crescent.

The male pedestrians – both aged in their 20s – were taken to hospital for treatment. One of the men sustained serious injuries and his family has been informed.

The second pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.

A 24-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

Police Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have been travelling in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
