Appeal for information following reported assault in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating a reported assault in Bournemouth are appealing for anyone with relevant information to come forward.

It is reported that at around 9.30pm on Saturday 2 December 2023, a man was forcibly held against his will and offensive language and symbols were tattooed onto his body. The incident occurred at an address in Columbia Road.

Seven people, all known to the victim, were later arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and committing grievous bodily harm with intent. They have been released on police bail while detectives continue their enquiries.

Detective Constable Thomas Norman, of Bournemouth CID, said: “An investigation into this incident is ongoing to establish what happened.

“It is likely that this incident was shared extensively online and as a result generated a lot of interest on social media platforms, so I am appealing to anyone who received photos or videos of the incident to please come forward and assist us.

“I would also urge anyone who witnessed the incident who hasn’t spoken to the police already to please come forward.”
