Witness appeal following serious collision in Blandford

Officers investigating a serious injury collision in Blandford are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 1.02pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024 of a collision involving a grey BMW 320 saloon and a pedestrian on a mobility scooter in The Tabernacle.

The pedestrian – a man aged in 90s – was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries, which are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

Police Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the traffic unit, said: “A road closure remained in place while officers investigated the collision. We would like to thank members of the public for their patience.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the BMW 320 saloon in the moments leading up to the collision, to please come forward.

“Also, I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage from The Tabernacle area of town near to Blandford Post Office at around 1pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024.”
