Appeal following reported assault in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward following a reported assault in Bournemouth.

At around 8.20pm on Thursday 9 April 2026 it is reported that a man was involved in an altercation with a woman in Holdenhurst Road, near to Sprinkles Gelato.

Officers attended and a 48-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of assault offences. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

No serious injuries were sustained and it is reported that the man and the woman are known to each other.

Police Constable Paul Fletcher, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and we are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

“We understand there were a number of people in the area at the time, with two men intervening, and we would be keen to hear from these people or any other witnesses.

“Finally, I would urge anyone driving in Holdenhurst Road around the time of the incident to please check their dashcam footage for anything of relevance.”
