Appeal for information following theft of puppy near Bridport

Officers are appealing for information following the reported theft of a puppy near Bridport.

It was reported that four-month old terrier Bonita had been stolen from a property in the area of Moorbath between 11am and 1.30pm on Sunday 12 July 2026.

It was further reported that a maroon-coloured hatchback was seen in the vicinity around the time of the incident.

Police Constable Seb Haggett, of Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this incident and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

“Finally, we are issuing an image of Bonita and would urge anyone who comes across a puppy of matching appearance in the area to please contact us.”
